 New Software to Speed E-Billing Processing for Law Firms
to Be Featured at 2011 Elite User Conference  

NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA (June 7, 2011)….Wilson Legal Solutions, a provider of services to help large and midsize law firms maximize the benefits of technology, has partnered with Invoice Solutions to develop Invoice Optimizer software. The software prescreens law firm invoices and flags entries that don’t comply with client guidelines, so firms can streamline and improve e-billing processes.

Invoice Optimizer adds on to time and billing software and is compatible with the Legal Electronic Data Exchange Standard (LEDES). It integrates with Elite software and can be customized to accommodate any workflow.
Invoice Optimizer works by analyzing pro formas prior to submission to an e-billing vendor and produces an error report.

Billing attorneys are alerted to any elements that could interfere with payment, such as unapproved timekeepers, missing time entries associated with certain expenses, narratives that are too long or have invalid narrative characters, or any other possible violation of the relevant litigation guidelines. The software suggests wording and rephrasing of entries that might be susceptible to reductions by legal auditing programs. Attorneys can then make changes and additions to the pro forma before submitting the invoice to the e-billing vendor.

By prescreening electronic invoices, law firms can also reduce or eliminate time spent trying to get reimbursed for services already performed. The software helps to ensure that attorneys have billed for all of their time, first time through, so they spend less time on administrative tasks and more time on billable work. Ultimately, with an automated and streamlined invoicing process, law firms can increase invoice amounts, reduce appeals, and eliminate the need to scrutinize every bill item.
